Thank you to the Shelter Dog Bed Project and Patty Hichborn for their kindness. Earl and Phoebe received new water proof beds this past weekend with covers ... and foster mom received washable pee pads. We are indebted to their kindness.

I’m so happy to be working on a collaboration with the “Shelter Dog Bed Project”, an amazing woman, Patty Hitchborn from CT has been making these dogs blankets for shelter animals for 8 years- all through fabric donations and volunteers! There are even elastic straps to stay on the Kuranda Dog Beds and are easily washable. No dangerous stuffing or bulky things to keep clean! She sent us a sample to try and got 4 paws up at Bubba's Beds headquarters! We are hoping to work together with Patty to provide these blankets to all dogs receiving a bed from BBFSF in the future. Our next big project that we’ve been waiting to complete for over a year is the Albany, Saratoga, NY region- with hundreds of dogs and cats waiting for beds. PLEASE DONATE ANY AMOUNT to help us with this project- even $5 makes a difference! Donate at youcaring.com/bubbasbeds or text “BUBBASBEDS” to 844-544-7171. The following shelters (and possibly more) will be receiving the next round of beds...Regional Animal Shelter...Saratoga County Animal Shelter...Montgomery County SPCA...The Cat Sanctuary and Information Center, Inc.....Estherville Animal Shelter....Animal Shelter of Schoharie Valley....James A. Brennan Memorial Humane Society...Friends of Saratoga County Animal Shelter.... Thanks to Carol Grandmougin at Kuranda Beds for Animal Shelters for connecting us with Patty!
Yeah!!! My Favs rock!! THANK YOU to Kenneth Kavanaugh and Mary .♡♡♡.adopters of the famous Amadeus...for donating an almost new washing machine!! And a BIG thank you to Patty Hichborn ♡♡ who picked it up and drove all the way here with it!! And milk bones and bed pads!!!

A HUGE thank you goes out to Patty from The Shelter Dog Bed Project for supplying us with all this wonderful bedding for our animals. It was our utmost pleasure meeting you today Patty. You, my friend are an amazing woman with so much passion and love!! We are extremely appreciative for "all the love" you place into each and every piece of bedding you create! Every Animal is certain to feel it!
Thank you on behalf of myself and all the needy dogs and cats!!!
The car load of Bed Pads will be going to Wings of Freedom Rescue for the dogs that were brought up from Texas.
Pictured: Patty Hichborn, founder of the Shelter Dog Bed Project.
When I started the Shelter Dog Bed Project I decided I would not charge money for the beds. Our donors donate materials to us with the understanding all items we offer are donated.
They have vendors to buy what they donate to us but they choose to donate to us instead...with that said, please, everyone, please do not raffle, sell or use any of our offerings as a fundraiser for your group. What we give you is for DIRECT USE for whatever rescue doggies (and kitties) you have in your care.
THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!
About 2wks ago, I received a wonderful telephone call from an Ashley looking to support and help a small but verified NPO. Today, I met Ashley from Mack & Molly's Pet Parlor and she came bearing gifts: cat litter, pillows, blankets, pet food, pet clothes, leashes, collars, cat condos, hay, food container, scooper, bowls, bird feed and toys. We are very happy to receive this. We can continue to help so many who need it. Thank you, Ashley for this kind gesture.
I also want to thank Patricia Hitchborn, Shelter Dog Bed Project for giving Ashley my name. Patricia has and continues to be a a lot of help to me and No Animal Left Unfed Inc. Thank you, Patricia, for this assist :)

We have a generous donor who has offered $100 to compensate for gas to travel to the project! Please ask anyone you know and share. We really need to get this finished before cold weather sets in for good! THANKS!!!!!!

"Ruffles jumped (jumped is definitely an exageration...she can't jump) right in it, so it's a hit! She loves beds, but even this bed is a little hard for her to get up over the edge :-) Any bed with a bolster edge is hard for her, but she keeps trying and gets in to snuggle. She is so cute.
She use to prefer the couch, but we had to pick her up and put her down. Now if you put her on the couch and don't sit with her she grunts and yells to get down."
If anyone works with a transport who comes thru Ct.--please ask them if they would be willing to carry our offerings back to their home state and distribute to rescues there. As we don't collect any money for the project, gas money and postage comes out of my pocket (which is empty) so for the month of March we are sending a box of toys to the Hempstead Town Animal Shelter in New York.
THANK YOU, Roxanne and Pattie from Helpers 4 Shelters in Middletown New York, who drove out to us this week and filled Pattie's truck with all kinds of things to bring back and distribute to the shelters they help in New York!
If anyone is willing to step up and can transport our stuff to rescues in need (Bloomfield AC needs blankets), please get in touch and we'll get it going!
Speaking of blankets, we have LOTS! Also sheets. We are getting them weekly from Rinaldi's Linen Service, so please take some time to come get them for your doggies.
Also, thanks Chris for dropping off the bags in this weather!
If you would like to order beds or other items, it is important you read this .
We are located in Terryville, Ct. If you are local you can pick up your order.
We will need to know a few things BEFORE we start working on your order. We will need to know: # 1-------- How many beds you need #2-------What size beds
If ordering jackets how many and what size-----if ordering toys how many.
We work with Alpha Dog Transport-----they are good enough to carry the beds to you at no cost-----PLEASE be courteous and make contact with Jeff before your scheduled meet to pick up your beds.
Alpha Dog has scheduled stops in the following states:Ohio---Missouri---Arkansas
Tennessee---Maryland---Pennsylvania---New Jersey---Vermont---Maine
Please tell us what city you are in so we can determine if you are close enough to their scheduled stop—if you are, you will need to commit to meeting the truck on that day at that time at that location.
Lastly, we cannot ship the beds. They are too big and bulky and the cost would be astronomical. We can ship the jackets and toys at your cost for shipping.

Thank you to Shelter Dog Bed Project for all the supplies we needed!

From Rosalie DeCrosta: "This is a wonderful organization. Beds for dogs in shelters go out all round the nation. Winter is almost here, please don't let a dog that has been left at an animal shelter sleep on a cold concrete floor. Drop off linens or pillows to Patty. Thank You !"
Thank you to Patty At Shelter Dog Bed Project for the much needed beds! We have new dogs arriving and we needed them badly. Thanks Patty!! ❤🐾❤
They will be put to good use for the doggies!
(CT only please as we have no way to transport)

Okay folks! Here we are again. The garage is filled to the rafters with beds and other comfort items and not one request since late August. Did all the rescues close? Do all the dogs have warm beds? I am at a loss here.
We offer pickup. We offer delivery. All beds are donated so cost can't be a reason. We work with transports who deliver out of state. We answer every email promptly. We have an up to date website. I welcome any and all suggestions as to how to reach you. I guess it's up to you now. We're here!

Dear Patty,
I just wanted to tell you how much we appreciate
the dog pads you make. They are the greatest beds for the
little dogs when they are in their crates. The pads are easy
to wash in the machine and provide a soft place for the dogs
to sleep at night. Thank you again for all your help.

We would like to give a BIG BIG THANK YOU to the Shelter Dog Bed Project for donating these awesome dog beds, blankets, and toys for our dogs (and cats too)! They are based out of Connecticut and donate all of these supplies to shelters to help their animals. Please give them a shout out and like their page, follow their website, or help by donating supplies so they can continue to help homeless pets everywhere. Our animals thank you from the bottom of their hearts!
Mattresses, Pillows, Towels, Comforters, Blankets,
Mattress pads, and Sheets, all welcome materials for
making dog beds and tug toys!
Thank you to all who have donated!
Look at all these happy faces!
Thank you, Shelter Dog Bed Project!
Please contact us if you would like to have a raised dog bed.
Raised beds are available for Ct and pick up only due to restrictions with the transports.
This item is something that we do not normally make. We charge $5 a piece for these beds. GREAT VALUE for five bucks!
WE NEED PILLOWS!
Anyone -can you organize a pillow drive in your community for us?
I run a cat rescue called "Better Days RescueFund, Inc." We were fortunate to have received donations from the South Britain Congregational Church
Outreach Program. Part of the donations were your INGENIOUS pet beds! What a great idea and the cats love them!! We go through beds like crazy and they always get ruined becauseyou can't easily wash them but yours are perfect! They look like a lot of work to produce and I can't thank you enough for making such an effort to provide these beds. Thanks again for your good work!
Yvonne
Thanks to Mrs. H. for remembering us with a generous donation of all kinds of fabrics! We will make lots of pillowcases for the beds!

Meet Patty Hichborn of Terryville, Connecticut. She's a dog lover with a HUGE heart. She spends a lot of time in her garage making dog beds and she donates them to any animal shelter or dog rescue in need. And not just in Connecticut. She started the Shelter Dog Bed Project back in 2011 and it's grown by leaps and bounds. All of the beds are made by hand and filled with love. If you know of a shelter or a dog rescue group in need, contact Patty and she'll figure out a way to get them to you!
Contact Patty at 860-880-1533

Looking forward to working with you Jen!
ATTENTION ACO's: We realize some animal control facilities do not have a way to wash & dry stuff. These linens shown can be used and discarded. Get in touch if you need some! [email protected]
very much enjoyed! Thank you so much!!!
Tammy
AWESOME donation today! THANKS!!!!!!!!! Kristy and Jeannie!
Your donation will go a long way to make the doggies comfortable!
What a wonderful afternoon!
Mucho thanks to Jill and Kim for getting 50 beds made today! Great teamwork! Kim is my right arm! We went to the Hartford facility today of Unitex. We stuffed the truck with more than 600 bed pads, then home to sort and bag them. We got over 450 in bags ready for all the rescues! The rest we spot bleach the spots and rinse, and then bag. Thanks so much Kim for your dedication to the project! |
We picked up the second load of bath blankets from McLean Home in Simsbury. Thanks Amy and Kathy for thinking of us! We have plenty now. We'll be cutting this bunch into quarters to make easier washing for the rescues.
We are backed up with ready to go beds-toys-pads-mats & towels! Since we do not collect any money from the public, any money we do have goes to materials not donated. We are offering delivery of whatever you need to you we will ask for a small donation ($5 or $10 for gas). We have a full size pickup truck so the more we can bring to you the better! Please contact us! [email protected] or, 860-880-1533. |
Please call 860-940-7661 before coming. (This is just to ensure we have some).
Also, if I won't be home I can leave them in the driveway for you!
Thank you, to everyone that has donated items to the Shelter Dog Bed Project.
Every bed is lovingly made from donated/recycled materials. Thank you, to all of the volunteers who have donated their time making and transporting the dog beds to shelters all over the country!
If you would like to donate or volunteer, please contact Patty. It's not only rewarding, but fun too!
Today we made an awesome connection with Unitex Linen Service in Hartford. We will now have an unlimited supply of these bed pads; waterproof on one side and quilted on other side- 34"x30". These are like the ones they use in hospitals and nursing homes.
Any rescue/shelter/animal control/foster/that can use these pads get in touch with us. Today Kim and I picked up 200. That's all that would fit in my car! Many thanks go to Dave at Unitex for the speedy reply and arrangements for pickup!
This is a car load of bedspreads, about 40 throw and bed pillows and sheets delivered to Terryville for Patty Hichborn. She is the Shelter Dog Bed Project and not only makes beds for shelters in Connecticut, she ships them all over the United States. She also shares her material to another organizations that makes cat beds ! She is great ! This is about 1/2 of what I delivered to her today and she can always use more. If you have anything for her, give me a call or email her and help make a shelter dog's life a little more comfortable ! Thank You !!
(Under the "More" tab above, you can access the "Contact Us" form if you'd like to get in touch with Patty).
More sheers! And all the other stuff too!
Kim went along to Charities of Hope in Wethersfield, CT to pick up a donation of bedding and pillows!
Came back home ready to work making beds. Got 30 done and ready.
Thanks so much Kim, for your hard work!
We can be reached at 860-940-7661 or [email protected]. Our workshop is at 351 Main St Terryville, Ct. Donations can be dropped off anytime or we can pick up in Bristol and surrounding towns.
THANKS!
Thank you Shelter Dog Bed Project for all of the wonderful beds, blankets and toys! We can't wait to give them to our dogs! Lexi is already enjoying one!
Hi, Patty!
I'm sorry for the delay in response. I have logged several hundred miles in rescue transportation the last four days and am exhausted. My rescue doggies love your pillows, blankets and tug toys! I love that everything is washable and the pillows can be wiped down. I had a lot of fun watching their reaction to the crinkling sound when they stepped onto the pillows. They are used to it now.
You sent plenty in January so I don't need any more in February. May I let you know as my numbers increase?
I'm working on getting some foster homes in place and would like to make sure everyone has bedding for the rescue
dogs. I have given your cards, that were attached to the pillows, to two other rescues in my area. They both do excellent work
and would appreciate the help. Your gift is such a blessing to this rescue and to me. I'm happy that you found us!
Thanks very much for everything you do to further animal rescue.
Blessings,
Karen

Ruby & Reba are available for adoption. These girls are incredibly sweet and adore children. They're 1 1/2 year old Terrier/Dach mixes and are fully vetted. If you're interested in giving them a loving forever home, please contact [email protected].
Patty started making beds for shelter dogs after seeing an older Lab curled up on a cold, hard floor in a shelter. After providing him with a bed and seeing how comforted he was, she resolved to do the same for other dogs. The project has taken off and she has provided hundreds of beds to shelters around the country. Most of the materials are donated, and volunteers help with transport and other tasks. See more on Patty's project at http://shelterdogbedproject.weebly.com/, and at https://www.facebook.com/pages/Shelter-Dog-Bed-Project/165097376912809.

This is just one way we are getting the comfort items to the rescues and shelters. Anyone interested in sewing these items, send me an email in the Contact Us form, under the "More" tab and we can arrange to get the fabric to you!
From Ruth: "Getting ready to deliver some kennel pads, blankets, and crocheted items to the local shelter (41 items total). Here's an overview of the pads, pillows, and blankets made from the fabrics you sent! Some of these are made with a combination of plush fabric you sent and what I had on hand....worked out great."
Thanks Paul(bie) for the bag of goodies you dropped off. All will be put to good use!
Working on the beds. Made a fantastic connection with Critter Calvary. They will bring beds to the south on their private transport! This is a huge shot in the arm for us!
Working on the pillowcases. Anyone interested? Thursday this week or the weekend anytime. Contact Patty at 860-940-7661.
We'd like to give our heartfelt thanks to Patty of the Shelter Dog Bed Project for the wonderful dog beds she made and donated, and also to Holly and Jill for bringing them to us. (Jill brought them here all the way from Connecticut!)

Recently, Patty received this amazing post from
Social Butterfly
9:16am Jan 5 Passion......is
doing something you LOVE!!
Well, our first "Motivation Monday" story is
about a woman that saw a dog at a shelter, without its own
bed...and well, she took it upon herself to do something
about it, make one!! What is amazing is that not only did
this one (1) dog get its own bed....but so did hundreds
more, and with our help even more will have a nice warm,
handmade doggie bed of their own too!!
Patty Hichborn, a local friend, has started making beds for
shelter dogs for a few years now, and continues to hold
"Make-A-Bed" day, once a month (open to the
public)....usually on a Sunday, from 10:00 am- 1:00 pm.
These sessions are held at 351 Main St. 06786, with parking
@ 353 Main St.
Patty, is on a mission to make as many beds as she
can....and as we all know with it comes a large supply list
too. Donation needs and much more information on this
amazing woman and her mission can be found on the "Patty's
Story" tab above. Please take a moment to read this inspiring story
and join me in thanking Patty, and all the wonderful
volunteers that have helped her, in one way or another, in
her mission to make sure ALL sheltered dogs have a bed to
rest on. Hundreds of beds have been made already, but there
are so many more needed.
If you would like to help, there are many things you can
do...without even having to sew, and trust me I
can't...but, I can sort cloth, use scissors, and YES,
our Youth can get involved also!
Thanks Karen, for the awesome donation of bedding items! We will put them to good use!
We are making tied fleece blankets to support the Shelter Dog Bed Project.
Blankets are 30"x40" in many different colors- $12 each
When ordering to be shipped, we can fit 3 blankets in a medium flat rate box.
3 blankets shipping included is $45.
Please contact form under the more tab above.
The official tally of beds donated in 2014 is----719!!!!!!!!
We didn't reach our goal of 1000 beds, but it is 719 more doggies with a warm bed!
To all the followers to the project, THANKS for your support!
Let's work on getting word to the rescues! free beds!
Most cases they are delivered! what more could they ask for?
Recently, Patty received this sweet message from Debbie out in Helena, Alabama!
This is exactly why Patty with the Shelter Dog Bed Project does what she does!
Hello Patricia,
This is Debbie Vines with Two By Two Rescue out of Helena Alabama.
Your wonderful group had sent us some beds and toys
last year. Our babies loved them and we are still using some
of the waterproof mats at our kennels. We have had such a
blessed year and have been able to place so many dogs in
loving, forever homes! We sent your tug toys and even a few
pocket beds with some of our puppies in their " going
home bags" when they were adopted. We have so many that
are still waiting for their homes to come and we would love
for them to have a bed or special toy to take with them once
their new families find them. I have 13 puppies at my house
along with several adult fosters abd they ALL love the tug toys.
Would it be possible for us to be blessed by your wonderful group again?

Thank you, Jerri Laubert for the kind message:
I just wanted to let you know that we picked up the pet beds in Brazil, IN, which is closer than Indy. Worked out perfectly.
Thank you, thank you, thank you! I know some furry little guys are going to be so excited about their new
beds! They smelled so good (cedar) when they put them in the car. I can't wait to deliver them Friday to Harmony Haven.
I told Anita that the stipulation was that the bed go with them to their new home, She said, "Of course!" I think your Shelter Dog Bed Project is a wonderful organization. These guys get so excited when I bring them their washed blankets and put them in the kennels for them I can't imagine what they'll do when they get their very own bed. I'm so glad we got this worked out and a big, "Thank you," to Jeff and Alpha Dog transport.

Sharing a message from Carli Leavitt who read about Patty's love for dogs!
Thank you, Carli for taking the time to share your story. And you as well, have
made a couple of shelter dogs, very, very happy!
Hi Pattie!
I was going to contact you about sharing an article about
who is liable in the event of a dog bite in Arizona for a
client of mine, but after looking at your site and reading
about what you do - all I want to say is, "Thank You!"
I am a Mom to two incredible rescue dogs, one of which was
saved from a high kill shelter, and the idea of him sleeping
on cement, scared and cold breaks my heart. Luckily now
he's in a cushy bed with a temperpedic topper, but still
here are so many dogs in shelters sleeping on the ground
alone and hearing about your project brought tears to my
eyes. Thank you so much for the Shelter Dog Bed Project!
I'm sure there are lots of pups who thank you too!
Sincerely,
Carli Leavitt
We would like to thank the person who left this wonderful donation of fabric and stretchy material. The fabric will be used as filling for the beds. The stretchy material will be used to make tug toys. Again: Thank you so much!

July 28:
Patty met Emily (on the right) through Suzanne (below pic of Emily), who works through a rescue: Labs and More. Suzanne recently transitioned from a rescue in Texas to her own rescue in Ct. She met Emily on the internet, they made quick friends and now Emily brings 10 dogs a month up to Suzanne to be adopted and placed in foster care. Emily works (volunteers) at Animal Aid for Vermilion in Lafayette, Louisiana, which is a high kill shelter. Before Emily heads back to Louisiana, she stops in Terryville and loads up her van with beds and other items and distributes them to the shelters she passes on her way home. Just this last trip she brought 35 beds back! Thanks so much, Emily and Suzanne! You've made a lot of dogs very happy! The SHELTER DOG BED PROJECT is holding the 2nd MAKE-A-BED DAY!

Just had to share this heart-felt message from Christine Dreton of Southbury, CT, that she sent to Patty at the Shelter Dog Bed Project:
We delivered the five large ones to REGAP (Rescued Greyhounds as Pets) that same afternoon, and filled the empty space in the car with Zen, Sue's new adopted
greyhound. He's an absolute love. REGAP was thrilled with the beds and after meeting all of her greyhounds, I can assure you they will be put to good use. I can't believe what a wonderful set up they have at REGAP
very clean, neat, the animals have plenty of room to run and lots of shade outside.
You've been such a good friend to SBCC (Southbury Congregational Church) and of course, to the
countless other people/groups you continuously make your beautiful dog
beds for.
There will never be enough thank you's that I can send your
way but please know that they come from the heart.
Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!!!
All the best,
Chris
A really awesome-wonderful-exciting day here. Suzanne (on the right) of Labs & More connected with Emily (on the left) of Vermillion Parish in Louisiana. Emily brought 10 dogs up this weekend. On her return trip, she stuffed her van with 40 beds and lots of other comfort items, which included towels, leashes, bowls and toys for all the doggies back home. Thanks Suzanne and Emily for helping the project to grow!

Patty has several boxes of warm fabric pieces and 2 huge boxes of couch cushion cover fabric, which is the perfect size for a mat for a kitty. She is very limited on space and would love to give this fabric to somebody willing to make the mats for the cats. You can do this independently or in conjunction with the project, or use the fabric for whatever you want. Patty just wants the fabric and remnant pieces to get used! Pickup if local, and arrangements for 1/2 way meet available.
Again: Thank you to all who have taken the time to donate to the project!

Three big bags of comfort items were put on transport with PETS on Saturday May 24th. The bag will be picked up by a volunteer from Ewenity Herding Dog Haven in Bradenton, Florida. This adds another state to our map of 14 giving us a total of 15 states we have delivered beds to! "Woof!"
As is our policy, Patty runs this entire project with no money exchanged. Everything is donated. Materials, time and gas. Our volunteers do a lot of driving, and put a lot of miles on their cars delivering beds to shelters all over the state of Connecticut. March 27:
Look what Patty is working on today! She took the wires out of an electric blanket and made a tied blanket. That's a lot of wires! More blankets to come! Nothing goes to waste. The wires from the electric blankets are saved and used to tie the bundles of beds together. (Patty Is very creative and resourceful). This is what donations do for the dogs! Always in need for more blankets and pillows. Drop off at 351 S. Main Street in Terryville, CT. Thank you everyone! |
March 21:
Patty transferred 10 beds and 20 comfort items, all going to Best Chance Rescue in Tennessee via Alpha Dog Transport! Way to go, Patty!!! Donations made this happen! Thank you! March 20:
Patty received a donation of 4 couch cushions. That's enough batting to fill at least 40 beds from these 4 cushions! Ya. Forty Dog Beds!!! Woof. |
March 18:
On the left: The donation of Tyvek before I cut and sewed it. The Tyvek came in a 9ft wide roll, so I had to cut the roll into strips first, then into pieces 25x25 then sew each piece on 3 sides. On the right: The beds made with couch cushion foam- I had to cut the foam into pieces 10x20 then cut the foam so it was thinner. I will sew the beds closed today and put the pillowcases (already made) on and they are ready to be distributed. We are still in need of filling for the beds. Anyone local wishing to donate pillows, we can pick up in Bristol and surrounding towns. Just waiting for warmer weather to open the workshop again. Thank you! |
Please use the CONTACT FORM page if you would like to contact us. We encourage rescues to use it. We are very pleased that Best Chance Rescue in Tennessee did use it. They will be getting beds via transport in the next few weeks! We'll keep you updated.
March 8:
Patty delivered 25 beds and 20 mats and pockets which were put on a transport with PETS. Beds went to Animal Care & Adoption in Texarkana, Arkansas. Teresa, a volunteer, will meet PETS on Wednesday morning at 5:30 am to pick up the beds in New Boston, Texas- about 30 minutes away from Texarkana! |
Our facility is bursting at the seams!
The Shelter Dog Bed Project has recently experienced a growth spurt. We donated 100 beds to a shelter in New York, which was the biggest donation we've ever made! (Most rescues request 10 or 20 beds).
We are blessed with a steady supply of donations to make the beds and other comfort items. We really need a local, rent-free space to operate the project more efficiently. We are reaching out to those interested in becoming a sponsor for the project. Our goal is to donate 1000 beds a year for the next 5 years! We are proud of the fact that the project has always operated 100% without money. We don't have the funds to support a bigger space. A sponsor could support a new space for a year or 5 years. We would be forever grateful for any help. Anyone with the means to make this wish come true, please contact Patty: [email protected]. OR: Shelter Dog Bed Project on Facebook.
The Numbers:
Using the recent donation of rolls of fabric- we can get 600 pillowcase backs from 1 roll of sheeting. We can get 88 pillowcase tops from 1 roll of fleece. Our goal is to donate 1000 beds a year for 5 years! DONATIONS MATTER! Patty needs a bigger place! Beds on the right: Made of Tyvek. Great waterproof dog beds! |
February 26: Chris (on the left), just picked up 30 beds from the Shelter Dog Bed Project. She'll be taking them to the Southbury animal shelter, which is about 30 miles southwest of Terryville, CT. Thirty dogs were recently rescued and placed with the Southbury shelter.Thank you so much, Chris! You've just made a lot of dogs very happy!
|
On January 15, Patty received an email from a volunteer at the Hempstead Animal Shelter in New York. Soon after, Chrissy Roselli DeAngelo, a volunteer at the shelter, drove all the way to Terryville to pick up a donation of 100 beds from the Shelter Dog Bed Project! Chrissy found the Shelter Dog Bed Project on Facebook. The project, located in Terryville, Connecticut, normally donates 10 or 20 beds at a time.
“We were thrilled to make this donation happen,” says Patty Hichborn, the project’s founder. “We hope word of the Shelter Dog Bed Project reaches more rescues and shelters.” Patty welcomes any dog rescue to get in touch with her regarding dog beds. |
